on forum,
write your messages with
heaps of decorum

If you can’t put it on a postcard
then don’t put it on the net.
Don’t send off something
you’ll live to regret!

Reputations are ruined
and jobs have been lost.
Bad behaviour on the internet
comes at high cost.

Don’t criticise work mates
Don’t slander your neighbour.
Make Christianity the standard
for internet behaviour.

The cyber bullies and
the hackers who steal,
need to stop and think
how their victims will feel.

Some spread viruses that
computers do wreak
and congratulate themselves
on being hi-tech.

In reality
their just plain mean,
no matter how clever
to themselves they seem.

If you have failed
there’s no need for despair.
A simple apology
will start to repair.

When paying bills
on the net,
Security
do not neglect!

Cyber criminals
Will always trim,
any bank account
that they can skim!

Your WiFi connection
should be password protected
To stop it from being
intercepted.

Travelling in Europe without knowing the language and being unaware of a few other things

My brother was in Italy and wanted to get to a railway station.  He communicated with some of the locals by making train sounds (Thomas the tank!)   It did the trick. They pointed in the direction of the local railway station.

I was also in Europe and into my third week. It was my first chance there to use the internet. At a hotel in Lourdes, France, I was given a computer to use for the purpose.  It was in the foyer and the lighting was very poor. I started to touch type and it came out all wrong.  This was my introduction to the French keyboard! I never knew that the French keyboard was laid out differently to the one I use.  My first internet session is Europe was a dismal one.

Working better with computers (tips)

When you visit a website and find something that you want to read, or you receive an email or an E-newsletter, that you want to read on the screen,  select the text (Control +A), copy it to the clipboard (Control + C), open the word-processing programme and paste in the text (Control + V).

Select the text again (Control + A) and then select a larger size font from the menu. (This will help you to see the text better and make it easier to read). Save the file. (I usually choose a name like junk and then continually overwrite this file as needed).

Read the file and then when you are finished with it, delete the file.  Some people have probably thought of this already. I am writing this for the people who did not think of it yet!

Also if you are composing an email or an article on the computer, do it first in a word processing program in a large text size.  Then you will be able to see your text better and  find your mistakes.
