Doctors overstepping the mark

I visited the dermatologist the other day (to get the stitches out from my operation to remove a skin cancer). While I was in the waiting room, I picked up a brochure on acne. There were some funny cartoons on it depicting animals worrying about their acne. It had some good information on it about the skin condition and then towards the end of the brochure it mentioned a drug which is used for acne is all else fails and if the acne is severe.

I was impressed that it mentioned possible harm to: unborn babies. They actually used those words, not the word: fetus, so the doctors writing the brochure acknowledged that the unborn are real people. The brochure was spoiled by the last bit of information. It said that the dermatologist should counsel the patient who was going to be prescribed the ‘acne’ drug to take suitable contraception! Doctors have no right to tell patients to do this. Contraception is an intrinsic evil and in some case it is even an abortifacient i.e. causes an abortion.

It is acceptable to tell the patient that a drug will harm an unborn baby, but it is not acceptable to tell a patient to take contraception.

Prayers for healing for those who suffer from cancer

Today an email was forward to me with the following message:

My daughter Salma, who is just 12 years old is battling for life at a local hospital, she is suffering from cancer and is presently in the last stage. The doctors have given up all hope but then I have trust in Jesus and in the power of Prayers. Therefore as a helpless mother of a dying child I beg all of you to pray for my daughter, please include her as a part of each and every prayers of yours. Please pray to Jesus that He should give her body the strength to respond to the medication, that He should somehow miraculously heal her of this disease and grant her a healthy and long life (AMEN)

Please, please pass this message on to as many brothers and Sisters as you can. If even ten percent of you would remember to pray for my daughter then it would mean a lot for us.. Your prayers and Gods Grace is our ONLY hope.

Abortion (find out what it really looks like)

It is a good idea to confront people with graphic pictures of what an aborted baby looks like.  Father Frank Pavone highly recommends showing these pictures. He receives emails everyday from people who supported abortion and then changed their position to being pro-life immediately, upon seeing the pictures of abortion on the Priests for Life website. Pregnant women who have seen pictures of aborted babies have cancelled their abortion. Seeing is believing. Priests for Life have been trying to get TV stations to show these images for some time.  Father Pavone does not even ask for a message to be given with the TV images.  The images speak for themselves.  Showing pictures of the reality of something is sometimes the only way to get people to come out of denial.  On TV there are horrible video images of the inside of a smoker’s lungs. Smokers who are hooked on smoking like to switch off to arguments against it.  The TV video images of a smoker’s damaged lungs can’t be argued with. Likewise TV campaigns against speeding and drink driving show the ugly reality of a fatal car accident.  Pictures speak louder than words.

St Philomena and the doctor’s Bill

A lady told me this story which happened over eighty years ago in Ireland.  One of her relatives was very ill.  The family did not telephone the doctor to come to the house because they knew that if they did not have the money to pay him that he would refuse to come. They prayed to St. Philomena for help for the sick family member.  Later on in the day the doctor came to the house to see the sick girl.  They were stunned and asked him who had asked him to come.  He said that a tall girl with long black hair had come into his office and had paid the fee and asked him to come down to their home to visit the sick girl. The family had not talked about the matter to anyone except to St. Philomena in prayer.

A weight loss crisis (the intercession of the Holy Souls in Purgatory for their benefactors)

My son John has been in a group home since the age of 18.  He is very autistic, however he is verbal.  There were times when he became violent.  Now he is on various medications, but occasionally he still flares up. We visit him each week.

Over a year ago John started losing weight.  Something was very wrong.  John is a very tall boy.  The home said that he was eating lots of food, and knowing John that would be true, he has a big appetite, but the weight loss continued and he ended up looking like a thin cancer patient.

I was literally out of my mind praying for help, because no one knew why this was happening.  I prayed to all the saints etc, but especially to the Holy Souls in Purgatory because I really feared that John would die, because he just kept dropping weight.  Did he have cancer or worms or something else?  Doctors could not find anything wrong with John to explain the weight loss. It was a nightmare.

The carers at the home eventually found the answer.  After John’s meals he went to the toilet and put his finger down his throat and for the fun of it, he vomited up all the food.  John was cunning enough to flush the toilet while he was doing this, so that the carers would not know what was happening.  When this was discovered, the carers “kept John prisoner” after each meal for a few hours to let him digest the food.

They continued this for many months and John grew out of the “need” to vomit up the food. I can assure you I was really scared and even felt ill on account of John’s weight loss crisis. It was terrifying. John regained the weight that he had lost.  Please pray for the Holy Souls in Purgatory and ask them for their intercession in all your needs, spiritual and temporal.  (Mary Ann),  Australia.

And then he began to skip
